Day at the Lake

Adaptive Watersports Clinic

Join us for our 31st annual Day at the Lake event. Day at the Lake is a day of fun, adventure and community, where individuals with spinal cord injuries, amputations, vision impairments and other disabilities can water-ski, kayak, fish, take boat rides and participate in other outdoor water-based activities. A free lunch will be provided for all participants, volunteers and exhibitors.

Participant Registration

  1. Admission for the day is free for individuals with disabilities and a guest.  Park fees have been waived.  Let the attendant at the entrance know that you are here for Day@the Lake activities.

  2. Participants need to be 13+ years old and at least 1 year post initial spinal injury to water ski.

  3. All participants regardless of age and date of disability can participate in all the other activities.​

  4. Pre-Registration is Required. Fill out the Participant Registration form as well as the two Move United Release forms must be submitted.

  5. You will not be allowed to participate if all 3 forms below are not submitted. 

  6. If you are a Veteran, please fill out the additional Veteran Information form.  This helps us qualify for the VA/Move United Adaptive Sports Grant.

  7. Participant Check-in will be open at 8:30amAll participants and guest must check-in a wear a wrist band. NO EXCEPTIONS! Water activities will start as soon as possible around 9:00am and wrap up by 4:00pm. Each participant is allowed to bring one guest free of charge. Additional guest may attend for $5.00 per person. No pets allowed with the exception of service animals.

  8. Lunch; typically BBQ, potato salad, beans, chips, cookies and bottle water will be provided.  Provide your own special dietary meals as needed.

  9. Bring your own personal flotation device (PFD) if available. Clearly mark it with your name.  Bring sunscreen, towels and change of dry clothing if desired. 

  10. Midwest Adaptive Sports is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Volunteer Registration

 

  1. Park fees have been waived for Day at the Lake participants, volunteers and sponsors.  Let the booth attendant at the entrance know that you are there for Day at the Lake activities.

  2. All volunteer, exhibitors, guests and participants must check in and have a wrist band. No exceptions.

  3. Volunteer and Water Craft Check-in will be open by 7:30.  Please arrive early to check-in and get situated for the day.  Water activities will start as soon as possible around 9:00am and wrap up by 4:00pm. Extra help is always needed for setup and take down.

  4. At 8:00am there will be a mandatory Safety Meeting under the shelter house. All volunteers and water craft providers must attend this meeting!  Water craft providers, water and land volunteers will have an separate meetings soon after the safety meeting. 

  5. Water craft providers, please come with you water crafts full of gas. Fuel refills will be available at the Smithville Camp Branch Marina after the event or during the day if needed.

  6. Lunch; typically BBQ, potato salad, beans, chips, cookies and bottle water will be provided.  Provide your own special dietary meals as needed.

Sponsor Registration

  1. Submit your support by filling out the Sponsor Levels Form below.

  2. Exhibitors may arrive to check-in and setup at 8:30am.

  3. You will have an 8 foot exhibit table under the big tent, along with 2 chairs. Bring your own shelters, tables and chairs, displays and other information as needed.

  4. Two exhibit staff are allowed for lunch. Typically BBQ, potato salad, beans, chips, cookies and bottled water.

  5. Additional will be charged $5.00 each
